Breckenridge Theatre in Summit County opens winter season with favorite “A Tuna Christmas”

A Tuna Christmas takes viewers to Tuna, Texas for a lively and hilarious time. Showing from November 19 to December 30 at the Breckenridge Theatre, this will be a pleasure after a day playing in the snow.

The citizens of Tuna, Texas are back – and just in time for the holiday season. Join the Tuna characters as they cope with the traumas and dramas of the holidays! Forget about the traditional feast of ham, turkey, cranberry sauce, and mince meat pie… because this season, tuna is the feast of choice! “A Tuna Christmas” brings back those beloved Texans: Bertha Bumiller (the perennially-addled mother of psycho twins Charlene and Stanley); DidDi Snavely (who runs the used gun shop); her husband R.R. (who sees UFOs as his rescue from marriage); Aunt Pearl (who shot her sleepwalking second husband); and all their neighbors. They are all on a rampage because a Christmas “phantom” is destroying holiday displays before the annual prizes are awarded, they’re battling a bad economy, and a local production of “A Christmas Carol” is endangered by a Scrooge-ish electric company. You won’t want to miss master comedians Seth Maisel and Christopher Willard (both featured in last year’s hit, “The Complete Works of William Shakespeare, Abridged”) as they portray the 24 denizens of Texas’ third smallest town where “the 50′s are always the fashion, the Lion’s club is too liberal, and Patsy Cline never dies.” Both actors are reprising their roles from previous sold-out productions of the show – and are having a terrific time recreating these hysterical characters!
Bring the whole family and join in the holiday fun!
